Leading Ladies

A Comedy.

This hilarious comedy about two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, who find themselves so down on their luck that they are performing "Scenes from Shakespeare" on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. When they hear that an old lady in York, PA is about to die and leave her fortune to her two long lost English nephews, they resolve to pass themselves off as her beloved relatives and get the cash. The trouble is, when they get to York, they find out that the relatives aren't nephews, but nieces!Romantic entanglements abound, especially when Leo falls head-over-petticoat in love with the old lady’s vivacious niece, Meg, who’s engaged to the local minister. Meg knows that there’s a wide world out there, but it’s not until she meets “Maxine and Stephanie” that she finally gets a taste of it. The world premiere of Leading Ladies was co-produced by Cleveland Play House and the Alley Theatre in 2004, directed by the author.

It is a pleasure to welcome you to the 2019 annual summer music concerts at the North America International School, which will take place on June 5th and 6th at the theater between 6 and 8 pm. Throughout this semester, students worked extremely hard and achieved a lot in their academic and extracurricular endeavors.Despite the challenging coursework for the past four months, the performers in these recitals dedicated a significant amount of time for preparation and rehearsals to refine and develop their artistry and musicianship. On June 5th and 6th, the students will take the stage to share their talents and artistic abilities. We have prepared a diverse program that encompasses a variety of styles, genres, and art forms, where students will perform traditional, popular, and classical music. The concerts will feature solo, as well as small and large-scale ensemble performances.

Both events are free to attend. Please come support the students!
